Artist's note: 'Repressed' painting is a metaphor for damage we bring to ourselves when we forcefully shut down and repress ours feelings, in pursuit of emotional stability and numbness, in pursuit of toughness, to get us through the day, to hide ours weaknesses and to avoid getting hurt...but in the end we unknowingly hurt ourselves the most.

Lara Petak is an Amateur painter, draftsman and an aspiring animator, originating from northern Croatia. She has been creating under the pseudonym Friday 14th since 2015., and had several smaller exhibitions within educational system or similar institutions. Wright now she has one animated movie on her name, which entered in selection of several international animation festivals, and she hopes to continue doing work in that area. Her painting are mostly in expressionist tone, while realism prevails in her drawings. Her animation style may be seen as a bit of combination of abstraction and minimalism, but it has harsh messages in the storyline, which mostly focus on awareness and protection of peoples and animals rights, environment and mental health issues.
