ABOUT AUTHOR AND ARTWORK

My name is Alicja Rybak and I’ve recently graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. While studying there, I had a chance to study graphic design as well ans logo design, typography, lettering, history of art and culture, photography, multimedia technologies, as well as basics of interaction design. I found them very useful while working on my personal art work. My curiosity encouraged me to seek out new challenges and take part in the Erasmus exchange programme as part of my MA in Graphic Design. I was enrolled for six months at Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, where I was able to learn a completely different approach to design. Working on several projects made me recognize how working on paper first creates new possibilities in design art. My knowledge and experience in graphic design and traditional print techniques allows me to combine those two worlds - art and design - and create something both technically good with an emotional and social impact. My artwork is a short photo book presenting Jupiter as a planet. I made all of the photos, text and editorial graphics. I also took care of the presentation of the book itself. The model represents a imaginary creature, who is the inhabitant of Jupiter. And the text and photos tell short story of it.
